Parking Sense – Jake Bezzant Appointed to Global CEO
The Board at Parking Sense Global are pleased to announce that Jake Bezzant has been appointed to the role of Global Chief Executive Officer for the Group. The move comes after a rapid growth trajectory for the company since launching into the major markets of Australasia in 2014, the USA in 2015 and Europe in 2016.
Bezzant takes over the role from Founder Paul Collins who has endorsed the move and facilitated the change over the last 12 months as he moves to a role of Founder / Director on the Parking Sense Board. “I fully endorsed Jake moving into the role, his passion, drive, determination and understanding of the markets we have developed meant the time was right for him to take the Parking Sense Group into this new era. This appointment is fully deserved and has been planned for some time now,” says Collins.
Bezzant spearheaded the execution of the global growth plan firstly as Global Chief Operating Officer, launching the technology company successfully into the two largest markets in the World and then in 2016 he was appointed as Parking Sense USA CEO to focus and expand the business in the largest parking market in the World.
During this tenure, Parking Sense USA grew rapidly to become the fastest growing and dominant provider of parking guidance equipment in the USA. LA Metro, CBRE, American Express, City of Anaheim, City of Fort Collins, City of Alameda, Kaiser Permanente, Pechanga Casino, City of Colorado, Walter Reed Medical Institute, Howard Hughes Medical, City of Sandy Springs, JLL are just some of the names Parking Sense USA successfully partnered with during this time.
“We always knew we had the most accurate, reliable, affordable and future proofed product in the World, we simply had to ensure we had the right team to create the plans and then execute those plans.” says Bezzant.
Collins steps down from the role after four years as Global Chief Executive Officer. His time at the helm has seen the company expand on near unprecedented levels, going from a pure start up to a global technology provider, innovator and market dominator. “Paul has not only been a mentor to me, he has once again, as he did with Smart Parking (the ASX listed company Collins previously founded), seen a gap in the market, created a product to fill that gap, driven the company to be successful and delivered on the vision that very few have” says Bezzant.
Parking Sense raised significant funding from Movac, New Zealand’s largest and most experienced technology investement firm in late 2017. Phil McCaw, Movac Managing Partner commented, “We’re thrilled to have Parking Sense in the Fund 4 portfolio, alongside Vend and Unleashed Software. NZ’s ability to produce tech companies with global ambition and capability is increasing all the time. We have a number of other companies that we’re talking to about how we can fuel their plans with our capital, expertise and networks”.
Parking Sense Chairman and Movac Partner Mark Stuart, has expressed excitement at the appointment of Bezzant, echoing Collins’ view that the time is right for Parking Sense as a global technology leader, to usher in this new era. “Paul has done an exceptional job building Parking Sense” says Stuart. “Jake is the right person to take the Company on the next part of its journey.”
“As always, when you take on a role such as this, you are reminded that its people that make a company successful, we will be sure to continue with our philosophy of employing good people, the right people who can execute the plans put in place, so that Parking Sense is not just a name, but a brand that people are proud to be associated with” says Bezzant. “I am proud to say that Parking Sense today, is that brand”.
